YFI experience
Through college funding, STEMFI faculty have developed a curriculum and stipend to help faculty learn about and develop more student-centered experiences for their current science courses.
STEMFI creates time, space, and resources for BYU faculty to come together and explore evidence-based ways to easily increase student-centered learning in the classroom.

Participants attend a week-long summer workshop style course in evidence based teaching and learning practice taught by science education specialists.
Faculty participants are paired with trained consultants to measure active-learning in their specific classroom before and after STEMFI.

Faculty participants are also offered a year long peer-teaching partner for feedback and outside observation.

Monthly cohorts of STEMFI participants and faculty meet and reflect on opportunities to try new techniques.
Members offer support and feedback.

Finally, STEMFI participants are given a certificate of completion along with an analysis of change based on classroom measurement.
